Except as expressly stated in our engagement letter:

  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes or results in legal matters
  • Website information is for general guidance and may not be up to date
  • We do not warrant that our website will be uninterrupted or error-free

2. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited as follows:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages
  • We are not liable for losses arising from events beyond our reasonable control
  • We are not liable for the actions of third parties, including courts and opposing parties

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lineage Partners, its partners, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms and Conditions
  • Your violation of any law or regulation
  • Your infringement of third-party rights
  • Any misuse of our website or services

Legal Information and Dispute Resolution

1. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. You irrevocably agree that the courts of Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or their subject matter.

If modification is not possible, the provision will be severed from these terms, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

5. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and any engagement letter, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lineage Partners regarding the use of our website and services, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.

Professional Standards and Regulation

Lineage Partners is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and adheres to their professional standards and code of conduct. This includes:

  • Maintaining client confidentiality except where disclosure is required by law
  • Acting in the best interests of our clients
  • Maintaining professional indemnity insurance
  • Complying with anti-money laundering regulations
  • Avoiding conflicts of interest or managing them appropriately
